FEATURES
Built in 1962. Carvel wooden construction of Honduras mahogany on steamed oak frames, oak deadwood, keel and keelson, copper fastened, teak laid decks over marine ply. Mahogany superstructure with mahogany and teak trim. 2006 survey.

CONSTRUCTIONBuilt in 1962. Carvel wooden construction of Honduras mahogany on steamed oak frames, oak deadwood, keel and keelson, copper fastened, teak laid decks over marine ply. Mahogany superstructure with mahogany and teak trim. Long keel with small bilge keels. Her interior has 4 berths in 2 cabins.

BUILDER: Designed by Frederick Parker and built by R.W. Clark of Cowes to Lloyds 100A1.

SAILS & RIG:She has a small steadying rig with Aluminium mast and wooden boom and a small steadying sail with sail cover.

ENGINES:Twin Lister Alpha 45HP inboard Diesel engines fitted in 1999. 70 amp/hr alternators, TMP hydraulic 2:1 reduction gear box. Morse single lever engine controls. 2 stainless steel fuel tanks new in 1999 including 2 x 35 gallon tanks and 2 x 14 gallon reserve tanks. Her range is around 350 nautical miles. Charging to 3 12 volt batteries (both 165 Amp/hr). Shaft drive to 2 x 3 bladed bronze propellers. Cruising speed under engine is around 7 knots. Engine hours are currently approx 740.

FUEL & WATER:Fuel capacity 70 gallons + 24 gallons
Freshwater70 gallons in 2 stainless steel tanks

DECK GEAR:Pushpit, pulpit and guardrails, boarding ladder, wheel steering, Whittle stainless steel davits, 20kg Plough main anchor with 50m chain, electric anchor windlass, 15kg fisherman kedge anchor with Ankarolina 50m reel of warp, mooring warps and fenders.

SAFETY GEAR:Lifeguard 4 person life raft in canister with hydrostatic release (needs service) , jackstay lifelines for side decks, manual and automatic fire extinguishers, Canary 1 gas detector, smoke detector, Jotron 121-5 MH2 EPIRB, rope cutters on propeller, 3 automatic bilge pumps with 2 manual overrides.

NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT:2 Fluxgate compasses (Cetrek 555 and Autonic), Silva magnetic compass for emergency use, Interphase and Echo Pilot echo sounders, Stowe electric trailing log, Incastec wind speed and wind direction, Sailor RT2048 VHF radio, Sailor A1 DSC radio, ICOM handheld VHF radio, 2 fitted Sony FM/AM radios, Cetrek 727 Autopilot, Seiwa Explorer II chart plotter, TFT screen chart plotter, Koden radar, Alpha LCD Navtex, Shipmate RS5700 GPS, MLR FX412 GPS, radar reflector, anchor light, Sestrel hand bearing and mini hand bearing compasses, Cetrek rudder indicator, GPS Shipmate repeater, Echo Pilot repeater and Autonic Fluxgate repeater.

DOMESTIC EQUIPMENT:She is equipped with an Eberspacher hot air diesel fired heating system, 240 volt shore supply with fitted New Electronic battery charger, Dolphin diesel generator. Her galley has a Taylor’s gas cooker with 2 burners and oven and grill, Electrolux refrigerator in wheelhouse, various pots, pans, cutlery and crockery, 2 x 35 gallon stainless steel water tanks. Her separate heads compartment has a Blakes marine toilet. Upholstery is in a blue dralon with curtains and carpets.

ACCOMMODATION:She has 4 berths in 2 cabins including 2 “V” berths in the forward cabin and 2 settee berths in the aft cabin.

FEATURES:Avon RIB with Mercury 4hp 2 stroke outboard.

REMARKS:“The Galley of Lorne” was originally built for George Campbell, cousin to the 11th Duke of Argyll. She was built to Lloyd’s 100A1 and is currently registered under the Part I registry in Cardiff. She has previously had 9 registered owners although the 2nd and 3rd were only brought about by the demise of George Campbell and the estate proceedings. Her current owner purchased her in 2006. Since his purchase the owner has carried out the following work;

2007 Hull stripped back to wood.

2008. Total re-wire using marine cable (twinned). Galvanic isolator fitted. New mains charger fitted plus charging gauge. New shore power connections. New auto bilge pumps.

2009 Fitted 4’ solar panel on wheelhouse roof. Complete hull and superstructure re-paint by Peter Clarkes Boatyard. Totally re-upholstered including bunk mattresses.
